I disagree. i think the most important part of life is to become your own spiritual guru.

if you followed your logic, wouldnt the gurus need a guru and so on? at some point some guy has to bite the bullet and say he "knows the way"

I depend upon my celestial guides, the Holy Spirit, Christ, and my thought adjuster (God's spark).

None of these are from the material world. Everybody needs a Divine Guru, not an earthly one. It all falls into place when you let the soul guide your heart. There is no doubt.

I think such a person is a good starting point. However, I think there must come a time when you leave the nest, and trust your own spiritual wings. That doesn't mean you stop learning, only that you start to broaden your outlook, learn from a wide variety of sources, and trust yourself to know where YOU should be in the grand scheme of things.

No. Spiritual guides have their purpose, but you should choose them wisely. There are plenty of people out there who claim to be spiritual guides who are really just out there to make a buck or feel important, and don't really know what they claim to know. A good spiritual teacher should be humble, regardless of the religion they follow. And eventually, you'll need to grow on your own.

I think only sheep follow. I've learned a lot from various people I've met, but I don't "follow" anyone. I value the knowledge of others but I digest it, take what applies to me, and reject the rest. It's called thinking for oneself.

I agree with the above. No one knows you like yourself. Be your own best friend and never let yourself down. Then you will have no one to blame when the going gets tough. Work hard, play hard and be true to yourself.
