How about Jacob to Israel or Saul to Paul, or Moses form shepherd to law giver, and first judge.

The story about Paul's conversion is the first thing that comes to my mind. It's in Acts... chapters 9, 22 and 26.

Saul-God stopped him on the road to Damascus w/a bright light and questioned him. Saul, became blind, was transformed to Paul, and his sight was restored.
