It would depend on exactly what the beliefs were. If it were machiavelianism for instance, there would be more ruthlesness. If it were Buddhism, animals would be better off.
I think that many mature people believe they've got the RIGHT view, but in matters of thesupernatural, as none of it is observable, belief depends on what's called faith (though some may not admit it and consider themselves more rationally grounded).
Personally I think the most common world view is going to be one based on basic common sense experience, and if we advance on that a little we have the findings of science.
Most religious people can accept most of the findings of science, and agree that it is basically a valid approach to understanding life and the universe. So what happens when this happens?
Well probably, people will (and have) become less religious. There are fewer creationists amd fewer who believe that demons cause disease than there were 200, or 2000 years ago. Natural explanations overtake supernatural ones.
That's not to say faith will disappear entirely, but it will become more and more refined as it integrates new knowledge into ancient belief systems.
Personally I believe if we all believed and trusted in science, we would have a "candle in the dark" as Carl Sagan put it. We would be illuminated by truth, and far better prepared to deal with the contingencies that nature throws at us.
Some will resort to prayer in anycase, and well that's fine as long as they understand the fidistic nature ofwhat they do. If that, and a little consequent humility is drummed into them, I believe the world will be a much better place.

The common answer is there would be fewer wars and disputes but I'm one of those people that thinks religion isn't responsible for wars rather people.
If there was one universal belief system you would inevitably still have problems with people opposing that belief system and trying to destabilise it. Also if the world had one belief system that means the head of such a "religion" would extremely power full and there would be such human beings that would seek to exploit this.
I think choice is better.

On the surface, it sounds wonderful, doesn't it? You would think this means no wars, no fights, and everyone gets along.
But, the reality is, who would finally decide which belief system was acceptable to be THE belief system? That's where we would have some definite problems.
As a Christian, I can understand the desire for eliminating all conflicting religions. Believe it or not, most Christians hate war and conflict, and so do most other religions.
But, as a Christian, I would hate to see anyone be forced to abandon beiefs that are very personal and special to them, just for the sake of getting along with everyone else.

that depends on what it was that they all believed. I don't think there can be only one system of belief, there are too many individual minds for that. Unless you take a leaf from Star Trek and make us all into a Borg Collective so we all think the same thing, lol. If you tried to make me believe something other than what i do, it wouldn't work. Same as i couldn't make you believe what i do. Why would we want to?

That one Belief system should be God. Humanity will one day realize that all religions werent necessarily wrong, but which ever brings you to God is the one for you. Its all about God and I think humanity should all believe in God instead of fighting with eachother about which religion or faith is right for God.
