Jw's have a very bad track record regarding the changing it's position on medical issues:
1931.."golden age".."Vaccination is a direct violation of the covenent that God made with Noah".
Awake Aug.22 1965 "Vaccinations cause disease"
Watch...Nov.15,1967..."organ transplants amounted to cannibalism"
Watch. Mar.15 1980.."organ transplants are NOT necessarily cannibalistic" and began allowing them.
given the Watchtower"s track record of prohibiting vaccinations for over 20 years, then reversing itself, and later banning organ transplants for 13 years before again changing the interpertation, one can only wonder how long will it be until the Society reinterprets the Bible verses it now uses to forbid transfusions.

Interesting isn't that the 1 in a few thousand that may receive "tainted" blood and eventually die would surely have died soon after if they had not received blood.

Or

All these many thousands could die soon because of blood loss and the wonderful talents and contributions to society is lost.

There is no biblical reason for not using blood to save a life - for these versus refer to pagan blood rituals that were part of the cultures Paul and the Apostles dealt with at the time of writing.

The very same answer for vacinations and transplants. ; )

perfect. that's the crux of the matter.
it's all good when it's someone else's child or it's a philosophical debate.

When it's YOUR child, it's a completely different matter. I wonder how many people have followed the JW dictate to letter, lost their children, and then quietly faded away. No doubt those people rarely speak out.

I would answer it this way if I were still a Witness: "hmmm... (looking at my child).. in the past I was strongly discouraged from giving my child a vaccination for diseases which could've/would've killed her in that day.... they changed their theology and now it's ok. Today, emergency blood transfusions on the whole are discouraged.. hmmm... if I let her die, will it be ok 5 years from now but too late for my child?"

I cannot understand any loving JW parent not asking that question.

Interestingly, I recently faced this dilemma when my child had a serious arterial cut.. facing reality really puts the philosophical into perspective.

i honestly have no idea what was in the mind of Charles Taze Russel when he started the watchtower so many years ago.

However, until the JW group got their own version of the bible and edited it to support their ideas of what and who Jesus was, debating the person, nature and works of Jesus Christ was pretty strait forward.

after they got their book written, they still had problems since their scholars did not get anywhere near all the references for the diety of Christ out of their own book. I try to always use their book when debating them and a thayers lexicon since he does did not during his life time believe in the trinity. He does not, but that is because he is dead.

Anyway, the power of the watch tower to control the faithful is really much more involved than you might think. One answer stated that it is a guideline....no, these writings are extra-biblical and care the full weight and glory of the scriptures.

The vaccilation of the watch tower on issues such as medical care, the return of Jesus, establishing the kingdom and such is a matter of historical record for anyone who desires to see.

The marketing of the literature is amazing and the watch tower is a financial marketing success. anyone wanting to be rich should study thier business strategy as it works very well. The watch tower is in it for money.

You can prove this by just trying to find out who Jesus is and when the reply, state that you have seen all those references and that is not what the newworld translation of the scriptures says Jesus is. They will hang you out to dry as unusable.

In the case of medical care, the watch tower does not concern itself with the care of its followers. Pediphiles are swept under the carpet (that is a hot topic) as if it never happened.

one point that very few people know, the JW represent one of the most violent militant armies if every mobilized by the watch tower, as they are head strong and would do the work of God (in this case killing) if so ordered.

and you think arab terrorist are cold blooded.

I wouldn't because there are errors in the JW religion. I would obey God regarding any medical treatment for my child. Recently my grand girl got hit in the head & clenched her jaw & wouldn't breath. I called 9/11. And my husband tried to unclench her jaw to get her to breath. I prayed for her. And she did look to the side after about 1+minute. But the Ambulance took her to harborview. So? I believe we made the right choice.

Yes. What of the stuff the bible says that people follow? Handling snakes and drinking poison. Believing homosexuality is sin and on and on. Instructions from the bible. Belief can be a scary thing and stop one from using their brain and common sense!

First of all The BIBLE says that If anyone comes to you preaching any teaching or doctrine other than My Words (BIBLE) to send them away,do not even wish them Godspeed ,or you will partake of their sins. Luke was a doctor. God give each one of us passion & knowledge to do certain things In this life. He also give us the ability to use COMMON SENSE.

Excuse me...but they aren't instructions.. it is up to your consience whether you accept it or not...they don't force you!!! it's a personal decision..and i dont understand why there is people that ask questions like that. and really with the blood transfussions with diseases like aids becominga pandemic and what not...would you want to have blood that has been stored and might have side affects aferwards...do serious research about blood transfussions now days there are other alternatives...and if they had allowed their kid to die would they have taken him/her to the hospital to try to save them??

I've noticed lately that there's been a lot on attacks on the WATCHTOWER SOCIETY at large.......what gives?

We as Jw's don't worship the WT, but we worship and obey Jehovah God.

No. I wouldn't allow any misinformation to guide my objectivity. The benefits of medicine should not be ignored. God gave us brains and we are suppose to use them.
