Have you ever noticed when you don't see someone online for a few days, do you ever wonder what happened to them?
I just found out that one of our Religion and Spirituality frequent contributors was in the hospital this past week (Pastor Art). I found out because I had posted a question to his e-mail directly and he just responded to me.
I don't know about you, but it bothers me that there is no way to find out when someone is in the hospital, or worse yet, when someone might pass on.
It's one of the drawbacks of having relationships via computer, don't you think?
(Sorry to be so depressing, but to me, this is a concern)

I lost my first account by sending a get well message to Debra M. -- The troll got so mad at me for caring about another person's health, he sent me an e-mail and then got into my profile and reported 14 of my questions regardless of subject matter. then ten more violations and I lost my level 6 account. -- go figure
(I am sure that troll was using a temporary account to send that e-mail.)
Get well soon Pastor Art. (Dear Troll, I don't care if you report me, I too can just open a new account if you delete this one.)

I know what you mean, there are a couple that I have been concerned about too. I'm going in for major surgery in a couple of weeks myself, but I already decided to leave a posting question to let those who care when I do go (to the hospital I mean) and when and if I get out.

I understand your concern. I got into trouble on here trying to find out about someone who said they were considering suicide. I wrote a question to their
Avitar name. trying to find them.. They said they seriously wanted answers.and someone to care...then they disappeared. I didn't understand this is against the rules(to mention their avitar name , I guess.) So be careful in trying to locate info on people on here.It's not the -12 pts. I cared about..but don't want to get kicked off. Maybe you could go to their avitar site and see if they wrote anything lately. Of course someone else might be using their site. Or just wait and see if they eventually use it. Do they let you email them? That would be the best way, I guess. Good Luck.

I totally agree. This has happened several times to ones that I know. But one had a friend post something. But I don't know how they are doing. Then another has been off for almost 2 months. Unless some have a friend that is close, you wouldn't know.

I've thought about this too. And also about what happens if a close contact dies, and their family member uses their acct. to let us know--how can we be sure? This happened not long ago on here, and I still don't know what to believe. I've briefly thought of having a password that I'd give to a few friends on here, and also leaving it with my family. I'm not sure if it would work though. Still thinking.....

SOMETIMES, its is just amazes me that I could care SO MUCH about a person I have never met...I do feel the same as you and I do wonder....and I don't think its gonna change either...the friends I have made here are very dear to my heart...its really like another family that has been formed, because you really do care what
happens to them, and what is going on in their life.

I often think that they just got sick of being reported so, they've moved on. Im missing alot of regulars now. Im going too soon. This YA is getting very boring. You cant have fun without SOMEONE getting offended.

get to be friends with that person and get into the habit of either calling them or emailing them. then you will know.

I agree. There is still a huge argument in P&S over the death of "TEA" and if it really happened at all.
