The reality is we are all individuals and there is no universal best time to work out. Your body really doesn't care, despite all of the myths out there to the contrary.

The best time to work out for you is when it is most convenient to do so. That way you are more likely to work out on a consistent basis, which is more important than anything else.

Hope that helps,

It's not what is best for muscle growth but what is best for your body as a whole. Exercising too late in the evening can prevent you from getting a good night's sleep. And that is the time your body heals all the muscle tissue that got broken down during the day (breaking down muscles is a good thing. When your body "repairs" them, they are larger and stronger.) Working out in the morning would give you endorphins that can help you feel more alert. It's best for intensive training to be done in the morning for this reason and the fact that you'll be able to sleep better at night.

I think that the most important thing is that you have eaten at least 30 minutes before hand. If you train on an empty stomach, you run the chance of decreasing glycogen and breaking down muscles. If you can't eat before you workout in the morning then the evening would be best. Right after you workout, try a recovery drink. Mix protein powder with juice. The juice has carbs in it that will replenish your glycogen and the protein will help you build muscle.

And remember, the best training is what you can stick to. Personally, I stick with a routine much better in the AM because unexpected things don't usually keep me from working out. If one of these works better than the other in your schedule. Make it work becuase you'll be more likely to stick to it.

Good luck!

It really all depends on your working/school schedules and how energetic you are at certain part of the day.

I personally like to train at about 4pm 3 hours prior to dinner as I would be more energy pack having consume breakfast, snack, lunch, snack - 4 meals in total since.

As compared to training in the morning having only one meal, I do not feel so energy pack. It really depends on your personally I think.

As long as you train with the "Right muscle building fundamentals" and diet right and rest appropriately, your muscle will definitely grow.

the only difference is that if you train in the evening, you have problems going to sleep, so its best in the morning.

morning is always better for that, it revs your metabolism for the day. You need to relax and rest at night for healing and tissue growth.

in the morning.. its better for your body to recuperate then have the rest of the day to do other things.. rather then do it at night when afterward you would be all wound up lacking more rest with a longer ttime for your body to recover and recouperate
