She and her family are here from San Francisco (I'm in L. A), they planned on leaving later on this afternoon but the 16 yr old daughter found out that there's a gathering at a park near her house today and wants to leave early. Her family still wants to stay. Do you think they should just leave early to accomodate their daughters request knowing she only found out late last night? We don't see them often and planned to prepare nice lunch and all for them. Please give answer as we compromised that what ever answers we get that will be the decision.

Since it was a last minute thing, then the rest of the family should not have to pay for it. Their weekend was already planned so they should stick to it and tell the 16 yr old to find out things earlier if she plans on going

HI. I think that your family should stay. And i feel that way because, your cousin just found out LAST NIGHT! If i was at a family members house, and i tired that my parents would tell me no. So i just think that she/he should be happy to be in your guys company. Also i think that it's really nice that your making them a nice lunch. So good luck with whatever answer you choose! Hmmm, majority rules? If most of them feel like sticking around a little longer they really should. She should be accomodating and not selfish.

I think she is being selfish. As she seems to be in a minority of one the family should stay and she should join in happy that you all enjoy having her there.

Tell her there will be other parties she can go to and that you don't see her that often. She should stay and enjoy herself.
