If you are doing well in college, then you are ahead of the game, but you ought to be smart enough to know when you need help. Make an appointment with a therapist to find out why you are so fearful.

Firstly,In no way are you stupid!
As small as it may seem, you have just taken your first step to recovery...You have openly admitted you have a problem and are asking for help and that's VERY Brave!!
I feel it sounds like you are under a huge amount of pressure and/or stress or even that it has gone past that now and you are clinically depressed.
Obviously, your first port of call is your doctor. In this day and age depression is recognised as a genuine 'illness' and though medication may not be the answer for you personally,it is always an option at least until you find the strength to hold your own and battle this for yourself. At the Gp's they will also be able to help and advise you of many different organisations that are out there to help,The help is out there..USE IT!
You have not put anything about your situation,family,past..there are many things that could have lead you up to this???.And if this is the case then get to the bottom of it all...What/who sparked off these feelings?,When was this?..Write it down if it helps because until you find the root cause of all these feelings you are simply treating the symptoms and in realising the root to it all,ask yourself, can you eliminate this??.
You are alive and breathing,You must have many many things that you hold dear..focus on those things too,but Please, please take this to a professional as it doesnt sound like you are recieving much support.
All the best of luck to you!!

Sounds like it could be quite a few things....

Your first stop should be the counseling office on campus. They will sit down with you and talk to you to see what is going on, how you are feeling, and help you understand whatever is going on in your brain.

It's there, you need to use it. Trust me, finding out what is going on, or causing all this anxiety/fear/depression/whatever it is, will really help....

You sound stressed, now how much of this is self created stress? You may want to start taking some good multivitamin with lots of B-12. If that doesnt help go see a doc.
