While I agree with the Priority system, I see Police Stations in UK closing at an alarming rate.
It seems they have no time for certain offences though.
Try driving on the pavement or footway as it is now called. So many motorists park on the pavement having driven there contrary to RTA 1985 that the Police seem to ignore.
Talking with an Inspector recently, I was advised that although it was an offence, if an obstruction was not occasioned. they were not bothered.
However, if I felt strongly about an individual case, they would take it on board - yes, me doing their work! Not likely.

I think it's a real shame that the police can no longer do their own job in confidence. Just think of the effort a few officers can put into catching what people would term a 'real' criminal for it to go to court. This criminal would then get a ridiculously small sentence (if any). I know for a fact that this gives police officers a real kick in the guts after months or years of hard work. Put yourself in the same situation. If this happened to you time after time, would you be disillusioned? I think I would.

No, my local cop shop has a hand painted sign that says Police Department on a building just this side of a large tool shed, where the front office is just barely larger than a phone booth. It sits on an unpaved parking lot and it seems that the only thing they are proficient at is writing traffic tickets.

On the upside they have stopped chewing tobacco on the job and they no longer wear the mirrored sunglasses with the mirror on the inside.

The Police, another favourite topic for discussion by multiple account BNP supporters. And I'm not talking about Sting either!

I live in Oklahoma City, and I feel confident that the police are doing a good job here. We have crime, but it is controlled well. There are no scandals going on within the force. Enforcement is adjudicated fairly as well.

I don't know why you use multiple identities. I think most people have little or no confidence in the local Police.

I have every confidence that if I call them, they will arrive in time to secure the crime scene, collect the evidence and catch the criminal.

I have no confidence at all that if I call them, they will arrive in time to prevent the crime. That is why I carry a concealed weapon.

I live in small town with a population of 4000 and the police do a good job. I have lived in big cities and was constantly afraid. There was murders that took place in public and nothing was done. That's why I moved to a small town.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I am filled with confidence, but my local police do an adequate job of enforcing the law around here.

Local purpose built Police Station is closed, the dog kennels are empty, no coppers on the beat, not even traffic wardens, sometimes a man comes in a van and puts a few tickets on cars in the car park that have overstayed their welcome, but that all helps the crime figures to go down as there is no one to report criminal activities to.
