Hi, I took out front passenger seat of my car beacuse I can relax on the back seat with my legs streatched out when I have to sit in the car for hours. But I wondering if It might be a "saftey" Issue or anyother Issue for law in the US.

Thanks

there's no law that says you have to have a passenger seat,as long as every passenger in the car has a seat and a safety belt, they cant say anything about it,they cant ticket you for it unless they stop you and one of your passengers doesn't have a safety belt, then you can get a ticket, but for the missing seat,no they cant bother you, good luck with it.

I am an inspection mechanic in the state of Pa. I don't know of any requirements for having a front passengers seat installed in a vehicle. You should probably remove the seat belts for the missing seat also.

They won't have an issue unless you have to many passengers in the car. As long as there is ample seating and everyone is buckled up including the people in the back, the cops will be cool. It won't matter when the car gets inspected either.

I do not see why. There are delivery vans that do not have a passenger seat. I don't have one in my car(I have long things to carry and the seat just gets in the way.

There is no law stating that you have to have a passenger seat. The only law is that each seat in a vehicle has to have its own safety belt.

As long as you don't try to make someone sit there you should be okay. It's not illegal to be missing a seat, it's just illegal to carry a passenger that doesn't have a seat.

Lots of delivery vans have no passenger seat, so I would say no problem unless someone is sitting there.

No, this is not a problem.

Alterations made on the outside of the vehicle would be a problem.
