Is it true that every 1 in 3,000 calico cats are male?

IDK if those are the right odds, but they are rare. and they are sterile. but, they are not worth any money as some people think, but it would be awesome to own such a rare animal

"Since most males only receive a single X chromosome, they do not carry the genetic coding to be Calicos, however, there are rare occasions when a male inherits two X chromosomes, making him XXY, and therefore able to present the Calico pattern and coloring. This rarity is basically a genetic anomaly, and for this reason the few male Calicos you'll find, perhaps one in three thousand, are nearly always sterile."

I don't know the odds, but it's true that every once in awhile you do get a male calico. But it's very rare

not sure of the exact number....but it is so rare that in Japan if you have a male Calico...it is considered good luck.

Yes.

Calicos and tortoiseshells are usually female. Orange cats are usually male.

i dont know about the numbers part, but i do know that finding a male calico is very rare and they are very valueable, so if you have one please take good care of it!
