I found my bipolar boyfriend 9 years ago. He was homeless, heartbroken and depressed. I helped him to apply for Social Security Disability, and today he is has a good pension and is doing fine on his medication.
There are about 2 times during the year when he has a manic episode and they last about 2 weeks. During that time he temporarily loses touch with reality and I have to be very patient and loving. He gets angry and verbally abusive but I understand that's the illness talking and it's not really directed at me personally, but the whole world.
Today we have a functional relationship and so can you. Learn what you can about bipolar disorder so you are aware of what you're getting into. Good luck!

particular there are strategies of triggering a manic episode, whether they're diverse for each individual. I strongly do no longer reccomend attempting to set off a manic episode tho! Its risky! A manic episode is notably much accompanied with the aid of a depressive episode. The manic episode is stunning, for precisely the excuses you defined, i havent had one in..properly...an prolonged time... Im an artist, and that i omit the imaginitive circulate that includes it, yet i dont omit the mastercard charges or different problems linked with it, like loss of sleep ..somewhat its basically no longer a solid theory...

I to was in a relationship just like this. and the answer is NO!
Because if he has been hurt so bad that U need to pick up the pieces.... then you have a problem. Because if you have not gotten over and re-found your self and made your self new again then it is difficult to move on.
It is going to be very difficult for him to function.

Of course it is! Bipolars are very sensitive individuals. They love very deeply and hence get hurt deeply.
Give him plenty of unconditonal love. You'll heal all his pieces.
In addition, make sure he's under a doc's care.
You can definitely have a loving and long-term relationship with this man. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

If he is on medications make sure he takes them, if he isn't get him to a psychiatrist and get him started.
Then, do some research and find out all you can about the disorder so you will understand his behaviors.
He would also likely benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy.

Teach him what you already know about life or leave him alone.
