Ich fast alles nicht verstehen, aber ich ein schraubenzeiher von ein schraubenschlussel kennen. (I don't understand almost everything, but I know a screwdriver from a spanner).
I did German as part of an engineering course a long time ago.

My father was German and of course, spoke it fluently. He refused to teach his children the language, however. :-\
