It depends what his Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) will be after completion of his tech school and whether that AFSC is one which the base or attached squadrons can use. I've personally seen personnel from Airman First Class all the way to General at the base during the 25 years I've lived here in the Las Vegas area. Nellis is a training base, but the full gamut of AFSCs involved with the care and operation of combat aircraft is at that base. The only ones I'm aware of who have to "earn" their assignments at Nellis are those attached to the Air Force Thunderbirds.

there are fairly some unusual structures out around those bases. mutually as overzealous flying saucers followers might have some loopy recommendations, those and the various different structures available are all in the main objectives for fairly some exams. Surveying weapons accuracy and assesing injury from stay ordnance is perplexing now and returned and normally demands a lot of markings which you does not in any different case see. shop looking around the section and you will discover much extra. selection operators use each thing from dumpsters to telephone poles to simulate structures pilots will could desire to understand in wrestle. i've got heard they do an insanely solid interest at it, too. you will see each thing from simulated missile web content like this one to trucks and plane parked at fake airfields. this is a very thrilling section.

Look for his job, most of the job descriptions on the site have a link that's called "Possible Assignment Locations." That'll tell you if his job is even able to be stationed at that particular base. Also, if he wants that base specifically, make sure he puts it as his number one choice. For his other choices, have him put the next closest bases to Nellis. They choose based on quadrants, if all he asks for are bases in the Southwest, they will try their best to put him there.
