not likely, at that small a dose you shouldn't have any trouble stopping it.

Weaning yourself off of xanax is extremely difficult. You can't just cut your dose for a while, cut it again, etc. because it is so potent and has such a short half-life. The withdrawals can be brutal. Usually, doctors will switch you to a longer lasting benzo, like valium, and slowly wean you off of that instead. You have already gone almost two months without it, so taking it again at this time would really set you back - don't do it! Recovery from xanax takes time, sometimes a long long time. If the withdrawals are severe, you might talk to your doctor about taking something else, and slowly weaning yourself off of that. Otherwise, hang in there, the insomnia really does go away - been there done that, you really will get better.

Xamax has natural alternatives. Kava kava, skull cap, melatonin in high doses, 5 http, non of these are addictive and work very well. 4 days on .25 mg Xamax will not create a withdrawal. Although I have read that 1 dose of a benzodiazapam can stay on the receptor in the brain for 20 years

It wont give you any withdrawal symptoms after just 4 days. Stopping to take it is a good idea but you may go back not sleeping right like before. Make sure you relax and have some quiet time before going to bed.

I don't think that's long enough to have a worry about w/d symptoms. I've taken Xanax - i think you'd need to be taking more than .25, more times a day, for a couple months to really have a problem.

Think you'd better talk to the dr. who prescribed it! If your taking it for a reason, don't be a martyr, continue to do so, then make another appt. with your dr. Good luck and good health to you!!
