yay for you caring enough to take care of your kitten! there are quite a few things you can do to make the costs alot cheaper. first, look through the phone book for vets, alot of them will offer you a free or discounted first visit. then, call your local animal shelter or animal control, and ask if they have a low cost or free spay and neuter program. here they send you a $25 voucher, where you live there might be another sort of program. for the shots, you actually have two options. one, you can pay a vet $20 or so for them, or two, you can go to your local tack and feed store, and buy the vaccines for about $4. its a simple process, and doesnt hurt the kitty. simply pull up the skin between the shoulders, insert the needle under the skin into the tent youve made, (not into muscle, just beneath the skin) and press the plunger. ive done all my kitties this way, i just cant justify how much more the vet charges for them. this doesnt cover the rabies vaccine, you have to pay the vet for those because they register them. if you pay for everything at the vet with no discounts, will probably cost about $100 for the visit and shots, and about $50 for a boy cats neuter, and $110 for a female cats spay.

Your best bet is to call the vet you plan on using and get an estimate. With the estimate, I would still plan on a little more, just in case.
Vet fees vary widely. For example, one vet in my town charges about a $100 for a spay/neuter. Another vet (same town) charges $250+ for the same procedure.
For my kittens, the shots ran about $20, neuter for the one was $70, spay for the other will be about $150. You also have to figure in the office call, and an exam if needed. Ours charges $18 for the office call, and $18 for the exam.
Get the estimate, but a safe figure would be between $130-$200.
Good luck!

A vet will can charge approximately $50 for a verify up. photos could run $30 to $70 reckoning on what you pick for. Cats could be neutered as early as 8 weeks so he's due. Flea drugs run approximately $10/mo. you're able to take him to a health center the place he could be neutered and vaccinated lots extra fee-effective yet they provide the effortless photos and don't do a actual examination. you will possibly no longer could provide him flea drugs if he would not have fleas.

this is sooo sweet, you are using your birthday money for your kitty. I love that. anyway, the fees vary quite a bit, so call around. there are plenty of low price clinics specifically for shots and neutering so call around. I live in cali and they advertise in the penny saver, very very affordable. like 20 for the shots and 50 for the spay or something. I paid a whole lot more when I did not know about these places so really call around. and call your local petsmart or petco and see if they know of anyplace

Call your humane society and see if you can get some low cost spay/neuter certificates. My local humane society sells them and they are half as much as the vet normally charges. They are just so damned happy you are getting your animal fixed, you know?
thank you for spaying your kitten. It is very important to prevent any more unwanted animals from being born.

Call your vet tomorrow and ask what their rates are for an exam, for any shots he needs, and for the neutering. You can schedule the neutering for later, you've got till he's about 5 months old before he'd need to be done that way.
