No I usually use the empty beer box from the night before. Or if I'm really drunk I just stretch a beer kozy over my skull

Yes, I wear a helmet-and NO it's not one of those cheesy styrofoam ones that look like it's made out of recycled coffee cups. Those are way ugly. I like the helmets made by Giro and Bell the best.

Depends where. If it's through a high-traffic area, somewhere I've never been, or the conditions are bad then I wear a helmet. If it's a short distance on a dedicated bike path, then I don't. Helmets don't protect very much of your body, or even part of your face. If the girl was just on a "quiet street with no cars, riding normally" then she should have assessed her ability better.

well, in the fight between my bike and the honda 2 weeks ago i was catapulted about 8ft into the air and landed on my back stiking the pavement with my head quite violently. my cheesy helmet (giro indicator) likely saved my daughter from a life with out a daddy.
so to answer your question ... yes.
ps. all bike modern bike helmets are made with styrofoam, most are covered with a thin layer of plastick for rigidity and appearance.

I'd rather wear a cheesy styrofoam helmet instead of being brain damaged, paralyzed or dead.
