I recently visited Ta Pinu Church on Gozo and was intrigued by the letters of thanks from people who had prayed and petioned to the church and received positive outcomes. I think I believe in miracles but cannot even begin to understand how, why etc

Not in the religious sense, no. Extremely improbable things happen sometimes but that doesn't mean its divine intervention. Some people point to someone surviving a disease against near impossible odds, for example, and say that its a miracle.
No, its just highly unlikely. If there is a million to one chance that something will happen, then it stands to reason that it will probably happen eventually. And when it does, some people can look at it and say its a miracle, but that doesn't necessarily make it true.

Yes I believe in them, God healed me of depression when I accepted Jesus (nobody prayed over me it just happened.) Once, He prompted me to pray for someone with a twisted knee and as I laid hands on and started praying, it kind of went 'bubbly' under my hand and he hasn't had any trouble since, this was 2 or so years ago, he wasn't a believer, still isn't, but can't explain what happened. We have miracles like this in my church most weeks.

A miracle in a religious sense is obsurd. It is completley contradictory, in which case it fits in well with religion.

Something Bad happens, its not Gods fault because he doesn't intervene in human affairs. Something Good happens and its a miracle from God?!?!?!?

Miracles are never actual miracles. When someone is miraculously healed, its never from growing back a severed limb. Its from things that might have got better anyway.

I do but dont know the hows and whys - my grandosn had a 1% chance of survival and we were then told even if he did surviver he would have no quality to his life - he is now 5 and thriving he has various physical conditions = none of which are life threatening and he has a great quality of life with few restrictions - that is a miracle why - how I dont know.

I believe in miracles. The power of God's work is just sometimes beyond our comprehension. God is a supernatural being and thus beyond the rules of nature so God can do anything He wants to do. It's all a matter of faith. And faith that strong is a concept that a lot of people just don't understand. When I have problems I put my faith in God to help me through it. Works every time. Remember, I am not asking God to solve the problem for me because that is my responsibility. I just want God to give me the spiritual strength to get through my problem. Depends on by sincerity and God sees into my "heart" for that sincerity.

the fact that they cant be explained is why they are called miracles. I have personally experienced one myself , I don't particularly believe in the divine aspect of them so to speak. We live in a world where some questions arent meant to be answered, because the unexplained provides hope. And without hope we realy dont stand a chance

I met a lady once who saw and eye return to some ones head. She was a lovely Nursey lady who worked in Africa. She was a Christian and the people were praying for the person at the time.
