problems normally bring you "closer to God" because you are in despair. If you have a good life, everything's going well, you get married, you're usually only thinking about what a good life YOU've managed to get yourself. but say you lose your job, you girl, your home, and you're now in legal trouble. You become so overwhelmed with what you've managed to get yourself into that you don't want to take responsibility. Instead, you go and pray to God for the first time in forever, begging him to get you out of the mess for you. very crudely put, I know, but people renew faith because they're too unmotivated to try their hardest and take responsibility for fixing their life. And then every time something good happens to them, they refuse to say that they did it, it was "God" watching over you and fixing your life. At times of need, people become vulnerable and wish that someone allpowerful actually cared about them, and decide that they themselves do no wrong, it is God who has manipulated their life.

I mean, I believe in the possibility of a God, don't get me wrong, but people use faith as a scapegoat rather than a way to show appreciation for what they have been given

Sometimes God has to allow trials to come into our life to test our Faith. When everything is going good, people seem to forget God, but as soon as we have a problem, who do we call on? I thank God for every trial He put me through. It has helped me to be closer to Him, and Trust in Him more. Everything happens for a reason. God says, He will not put more on us than we can bear. We should Trust Him, not question Him.

Hi and good morning...I believe that 'we' as Christians or those who believe in Our Lord become closer to God with our problems because we need that strength from Him to feel more secure. This is why we have the concept of faith and to pray. Now I don't believe that 'we' as Christians should only pray when we are in need but to also pray to our Father to let Him know that we believe in Him as well as His son. Sometimes we forget as Christians that God is with us everyday with His spirit. We need to let God know that we as Christians love Him and what He has done for us whether in need or just to worship His greatness. Have a very blessed day!

It is comforting to know that with God, all trials and tribulations have a divine purpose. We are never alone. He told His disciples that they would be scattered, leaving Him alone, and yet "I am not alone, because the Father is with me. "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. "In the world you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world." (John 16:32, 33)

"...I will never leave you, nor forsake you; therefore I can boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man can do to me" (Hebrews 13:5b,6). Trials develop godly character. "...we exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character, and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us...
Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).

That only works for those He is callling. For those lost for all time, they just might live magical life full of fun and big bucks. I mean, haven't you ever wondered how it is, these people seem to be so happy-go-lucky? What are we to do about it. If the Lord is not calling them, what are we to think about it?

when you are in problems then you pray more, and as sad as it is , when you are happy you tend to pray less. So when problems attack you you look for support and help from God so you are therefor drawn closer to him

There are two types of people who turn to God...

1st.. those who can see personal profit in it...

2nd.. those who are weak minded, and cannot take responsibility in their own lives.
