Generally all TVs would have a Audio output connection.

You can check whether this is available with your television. Normally you will find a Yellow, White and Red connectors out.
The Yellow is for Video out, WHite and Red ones are for the Audio. Make sure it is an output and not an input from your television.

TVs which do not give this output are rare. Alternatively you can use the external speaker output lines to connect to the theatre.
Now connect the Red and White outputs through a cable to the Audio input of your theatre. Normally theatres let you connect to multiple sources and TV will be one of them. THey also will provide with the same color codes normally.

Once connected, switch the Theatre input source to TV using your theatre remote. This should help.

If that is all the equipment you have, see on the back of your TV to see if it has any audio output jacks. If it does then you can hook up your TV for surround sound. Just connect your TV to the receiver (output of the TV to a audio input on your receiver). Change the mode on your receiver to the input mode of your TV and you should have sound.
