Go and see your doctor. There are certain heart conditions that can be mistaken for heartburn, even by a doctor. My father was treated for heartburn for 6 months before he had his first heart attack.

heartburn, or acid indigestion is caused by stomach acid splashing up into the esophagus. If you get it every night, then you can do several things to alleviate your problem. First, do not eat anything for four hours prior to going to bed. Second, elevate your head on at least three pillows when you go to bed, or put the bed on a slant with your head up, this helps gravity work for you to keep the acids you have in your stomach. And third, take an antacid prior to bedtime.

It could be a number of things,
all of which you need to go to your doctor for prescription meds.
But it's usually from acid reflux.
The worst thing you can do is eat right before you go to bed.
It's important that after you eat, make sure you stay upright for atleast 1 hour.
You can take over the counter meds like Pepcid Ac, Zantac, or Tagamet.
If they don't help or they do but not for long enough, then you probably need something stronger.
You don't want to let it go, because that acid reflux can cause damage to your esophagus.

Hope I helped you some ;)
