I don't need a reason, I'm just curious what the overall majority of the people here are thinking.
If you want, you can be specific on model/series number, airline/country/owner, registration, etc.
Go ahead and give me your second favorite too, if you want.
Thanks!
As for me:
Boeing 757-232
Delta Air Lines

I always loved the Lockheed Tri-Star in the early Eastern Airlines livery. My modern favorite is Boeing's mini-jumbo the 777-300 with the awesome GE90115B engines. 115,000 lbs of thrust and a nacelle wider than the cabin of a 757.
.
I agree with you about the 757. It's long landing gear and narrow fuselage give it an elegant stork like look on approach. .
We differ about any member of the DC-9 or MD 80 family. I always thought the nose was unattractive, it rides too close to the ground, and the wings seem to be too far back.
.
The old workhouse 727 on the other hand with it's three engine rear layout and T tail always looked like they were were flying even while they were on the ground. They were an icon of the early jet age.

I have a few favorites actually.
Not in any specific order...
The Boeing 777 - Most powerful engines on a commercial airliner and also very comfortable inside.
Any of the big Tri-Stars - i.e. MD-10, MD-11, L-1011. May not be the most reliable but I still love how they look.
And finally the Airbus A 340-600. Longest passenger aircraft. It just amazes me how something that long doesn't break down the middle.

DeHavilland Mosquito. Bombed Berlin in broad daylight in 1943 when Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Goering were giving speeches for the 10th anniversary of the Third Reich.
Boeing 727. Helped Joe six-pack get into the skies, fast, simple, beautiful.

1- F4G Weasel great jet, great mission. Though I'm biased admittedly.
2- Me262. First operational jet fighter, was also superior to most post-war allied jets until the advent of the MiG15/F86. A little known fact.
3- Fw190. Probably the most truly advanced fighter design of the second world war. Fast, sh&^*load of firepower, small and highly maneuverable. A match for the SpitIX or P51B/D.

Lockheed constellation. It was impossible to mistake this airplance for anything else.
Main operators in the US were Trans World and Eastern.
The Constellation was the climax of prop driven aircraft. It took the Boeing 707 and DC8 many years to take them out of the skies.
