yes that's perfectly normal so when she does that just walk away from her because it's just like when a human lady is on her periods one minuter she is fine the next minute she can feel horrible and then goes in a mood. its just her hormones. She may go oof of her food aswell or maybe not want to play at all, all of these are perfectly normal ways for a dog to act when in heat.

When a dog is in heat, it's a little like a human woman being on her period except this is the point in time when she really wants to find a male and mate. So she's probably going to be off her feed, not feeling like playing and a little irritable.

Your dog is readying herself to have offspring when in this process, she will be very protective of herself and maybe even puppies she will be lethargic at times and very feisty at times also so just wait it out and she will bouce back to her old self as soon as she is done being in heat but if you don't want her to have baby's then keep her inside your house and away from male dogs

As the above poster stated, please get your dog spayed. She will be happier, and so will you! Since I had my female spayed, her behavior has improved in so many different areas.
