i have a 14 month old labrador a girl, she is well trained but i often wonder if it would be nice for her to hve a play mate as i have read things about how two dogs are better then one. i want another labrador a male . i have asked my dad and i know he would say yes if my mum did but she says no because she has to get up in the mornings to bring the dog in that we already have. i would do it but she still says no .how can i convience her to let me get one?

don't just convince her, show her you will take care of the dogs. get up before your mom and bring the dog in then she won't be able to use that reason for saying no. feed her, water her, bathe her, walk her, and play with her. then after a while of doing that, ask her. but don't just stop doing those things when she says yes. continue to throughout your dog's life. then it will show you are responsible.

You need to prove to your mum that you can handle two dogs. You have to play with them alot. Feed them everyday (2 times a day) and give them water, love, and attention. Beat your mum up every morning so you will let the dog in. Let this big responsibility go up to a week and then ask again and say how responsible you have been!

You can't. One dog is difficult enough to handle, let along two. Your mother shouldn't have to get up in the mornings, it's YOUR dog so you should be taking responsibility for it. There are dog "play-groups" where you can go to a special park where several dogs can play, see if there's one in your area.

well maybe you need to be more responsible and show her that you are a loyal and trustworthy owner and that you are mature enough to handle the responsibilities that a dog brings.Feed the dog,give him water take him walks, keep him clean, get up in the morning and show her that you are able to get yourself out of bed when you have to, etc.. But you can't get a dog unless everyone in the family wants one.

Why do you want another dog? Is there something wrong with the one you have now? Maybe she seems lonely to you because your sitting there staring at her and not playing or bonding with her...Don't bother getting anohter one..just more vet bills to pay. Just love the one you have until your parents are ready or maybe they come up to YOU saying they want another one

If I were you I would just show that you can take care of the dog you already have and the maybe they will see that your ready for another dog but if you not ready for another dog then don't push yourself to get one just for you dog because who knows maybe you dog that you have right now or the one that you want to get isn't ready for another dog because they want all the attention or something like that because if one or both of your dogs don't want a new doggy friend it could end up very very ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's simple. YOU get up in the mornings to bring the dog in. It will eliminate her reason for saying no and show her how responsible you are.

convince her that u will do all the work like take the dog on a walk, feed it, get it exercise, play with it etc. and also convince her that it would be better for the femaile pup. she might go for it, but u gotta convince her to get another pup. two pups are SOO much fun!

well what you say is your dog needs a friend when your gone your dog needs a friend and tell them u will take real good care of him and that he would be good for the whole family! lol good luck getting a new dog! hey just to let you know it worked for me i got a bird! haha
