Now I let the cats sniff each other out for a couple of days and now I have let them see each other but the kitten ran under the coach and my older cat went under there too and Im wondering if they will kill each other as I cant get to them. If they do scrap.
Im wondering if anyone one knows about the situation I am in and if I can get any suggestions. Will the kitty be ok interacting with my older cat.
Details my older cat is male and two years old and the kitten is female and about7 to 8 months old. Please only responses of people that have two cats and how they introduced them together and how things went.

keep new kitty in a room to itself for 2 weeks -allowing them to sniff paws under the door.. letting new kitty out too soon is unfair to both of them...

is your male neutered? is the female spayed??

follow the basic rule of thumb - one litter box per cat and ideally one other box somewhere else in the house...

normally a 7 month old would still be on kitten food - and as cats need access to their food all the time and you cannot stop him from eating her food (ktten food is yummier) you should slowly switch her to adult food)

I actually have four cats. We had two older male cats, and then we got two female kittens. The older cats wouldhiss and stuff at first, but after a month or two, all the cats were getting along. you have to give the cats a little bit of time. The younger cat is probably under the couch because she is scared. I mean, its a new environment for her. the older cat probably wants to see what shes doing so he goes down there too. I dont think that you have to worry about having a dead cat.

ok. it is ok if they are hiding out together.! Good planning getting a female... that way he not be mad at the kitten. They will be fine. If they do fight... then dont punish either one... let them disagree as long as no blood occurs. if some does... then seperate them.

I have introduced cats to each other, if the bigger cat has claws... i clip them so that they are *weaker* meaning... they cant scratch the smaller one to death. The lil one needs some defence. other then running...

good luck i hope it works!

Some cats just don't get along with others. But give each of them enough attention, and GIVE THEM SPACE.

i did the same thing -- left them to their own devices... just keep an eye on them.

before you know it, i bet they will be playing together...

the older cat has to get used to the idea there is an intruder in his home!

take care.
