I think no soup. There is just too much wrong with that idea.

Surprisingly, soup; but not the common evolutionary idea of prebiotic soup. Genesis 1:2 states that, even before light was present, God's Spirit hovered over the waters in the darkness. So before there was even light, the Earth was technically a ball of water, which was then seperated on what is seen as the second day of Creation into seas and sky.

Hi, Eartha,

I think you are referring to the Miller-Urey experiments where scientists created a mixture of chemicals, zapped it with electricity, and produced some amino acids, which are components of DNA molecules. But yes, it has been debunked. The chemicals in Miller-Urey were nothing like the actual early atmosphere of earth. The powerful, concentrated current of electricity was quite different from a chance stroke of lightning. And our modern knowledge of the complex, metabolizing, self-reproducing cell, with all of its complex microscopic machinery, directed by DNA strands organized with complex information, makes the "primordial soup" hypothesis untenable today.

Cheers,
Bruce

CCC 338 - Nothing exists that does not owe its existence to God the Creator. The world began when God's word drew it out of nothingness; all existent beings, all of nature, and all human history are rooted in this primordial event, the very genesis by which the world was constituted and time begun. (from the Catechism Of The Catholic Church).

In answer to your soup or no soup question I must reply by saying Soup - you must try mushroom soup made from real mushrooms and tomato soup, ideally home made and not out of a tin

Evolutionists still embrace it anyway. Who said they needed evidence? That's for scientists, not evolutionists.
