I would say its OK to let her play outside, go in the car, but be careful about the park. There could be a slight chance that there was a sick puppy there, but I doubt that someone would take a sick puppy to a park. They would probably take it to a vet instead or keep it at home.
95% of the dogs and puppies in my town don't get vaccinations because there is no vet here, and many people keep their 6 week old puppies outside. Most of them are OK, but once in a while there are a few sick puppies. Dogs and Puppies get vaccinated where you live, so I would say that there is a low chance that your puppy would get sick from a few trips to the park.
If she follows you around when you walk, then you should start putting her on a leash so she get used to it. That way you won't have a difficult time teaching her after when shes bigger and stronger.

She's a little young to be away from her mother but get her used to a collar now (get a breakaway one for safety) and leash and take her for walks and also car rides. I would stay away from parks just yet as she has some vacinations to have first or she could pick up something bad like parvo etc.
The sooner you socialize your dog the better. That's with both other animals and people. Then it's no big deal when they are full grown and see someone walking toward you - their tail will wag and unless they feel you are threatened by that particular person, will be very happy to meet them.
I had a very large dog (over 100 lbs) so by the time she was 3 months old, she was ready for a safety belt for the car. She could still see out the windows but could lay down as well. Once your dog is getting close to their full grown weight you should consider one as well. We protect our children so we should protect our dogs.
By 3 months your dog should get the ok from the vet to go ahead and meet other dogs in the park and socialize with them.
Have fun....puppyhood is a great time.
By the way - getting the puppy used to car rides is always a good idea, not just for you wanting to travel but then they don't associate the car with the Vet and needles.
Also, don't be surprised if puppy is carsick. It's natural and should pass when they are a year old. Just keep plenty of towels and paper towels handy. Always travel with cold water and a bowl so if the dog is sick, it can rehydrate right away and wait a bit for the water to settle down her before travelling again.

Its okay for your puppy to go outside, she may not like the feeling of the grass under her feet at first but she will eventually get used to the feeling and she will enjoy it. If you plan on taking your dog for car rides all the time then you need to get them use to it now, if your puppy gets an upset stomach let her get out and eat some grass this helps calm their tummy's, and most important you need to start getting her used to a leash, she will fight it later if you don't start to introduce it now, besides most city's have leash laws and just for the protection of your dog, they will generally chase things that catch their eye no matter how well they are trained, enjoy your new puppy.

DO NOT take your puppy anywhere until she is FULLY VACCINATED!
she should also have a collar with identification on it.. in case something happens...
One of the FIRST places they should go is Puppy Obedience lessons for proper socialization...
NEVER let them follow you...make sure its leash trained FIRST!!!!
Carrying is not a good habit to get into either - it babies the dog and the dog doesnt learn proper doggie socialization if every time you do stuff you scoop it up and carry it...
again - until its fully vaccinated the only place it should go is in your back yard.

Check out the leash laws first. I would recommend putting her on a leash anyway. She's too young to know not to run in the street if something catches her eye and you don't want a run over pup. Get a leash (Walmart has them for 2 bucks).

Yes puppies do like to go outside. When i first got my puppy Maverick he LOVED being outside. We would be outside for a good 3 hours at a time and would go out 2 or 3 times a day. He loves walks too. He wasn't big enough to go running with me at first but he is just about 4 months old now and he loves to go running with me. If you are just talking her outside in your backyard chances are you won't need a lease if she follows you around and sticks by your side. What kind of dog is she?

you need a leash.she can just bolt to the road in a second if she gets distracted by something like another dog and its byby puppy.all pups need leashes.i take my pup to the neighborhood park.i dont much though becuase there is a risk of your dog catching something becuase alot of dogs probably go there.lets say there was a dog at the park 6 whole months ago and had parvo.your pup could catch it.i would just run around the backyard until she gets older and develops an immune system

I have a small puppy too. She's now 4 months old and we have always taken her outdoors. We crated her to potty train her and in the morning or when we get home, we take her out of the crate and take her directly outside. We take her in the car only rarely... she tends to get carsick. If she goes out of the house we leash her. It seems to be working well.

Does she have all her shots? If not, keep her away from other dogs. I would not trust her off leash outside. Start putting the leash on her now and practice walking with her on the leash. I'm surprised the dog is so young and away from its litter mates and mom. Six weeks old is too young for a pup to leave its mom.

Hi.. Dogs simply love to go outdoors!! My boyfriend has a pet dog, whom he has raised since she was just a day old, as the mother passed away.
He has always brought her out since she was a puppy but you must be very careful as other animals, like older cats, may tend to attack the small puppy. Bringing the puppy out will keep it healthy and happy.
My boyfriend's dog is nearly 10 years old, but still very healthy. I feel that the reason is that he always brings her out at least once a day. (except on rainy days).
I don't see anything wrong with bringing your puppy out in a car or without a leash, as long as your puppy is trained to obey your commands. My boyfriend's dog simply loves to go out in cars!!
