禮拜 is a term invented by Christian missionaries: means to worship. Actually this term comes from 禮拜日, where in Chinese, 日 could mean "day" or "sun". Since Christians call their day of rest "Sunday", they translated it this way: 禮拜 = worship, 日= "Sunday", since 日is both sun and day in Chinese, they thought "Why not combine them to make 日mean "Sunday" so 禮拜日, literally means according to Christian missionaries "worship on Sunday", which coincidentally is on "星期日", Sunday. 周 here means "a time that returns": anniversary, etc..., something that'll repeat itself: so 周日 also "Sunday": Might be redundant but "Sunday will always be Sunday every week", Don't tell me you'll call next week's Sunday, Saturday or some other day, it doesn't make sense.

One time someone used this translator, and it translated from Chinese "Percussion Instrument" into English as "Orange". So, in Chinese, you call it "Percussion Instrument", but in English, it's called "Orange"! Use everything with a grain of salt: Google, Wikipedia, etc...
