there is usually a severe penalty for playing the wrong hole, especially without prebooking the tee time.however if arrangements have been made with the owner of the said hole then usually the penalty is waived. In most circumstances the line of sight is obstructed by dense undergrowth and it can be considered quite an achievement if a hole-in-one is managed whilst playing the wrong hole.Usually a very decent short game is required to enable the said hole to come into play.

Came close on a par three double green. Nuked one over the flag and came within a foot of the other pin. Had about a 100' putt coming back. Would've rather had the 1' putt for birdie. (did make par though).

It reminds me about Ian Woosnam in a tournament in Japan. The Japs knew he was good and tried to nobble him. They plied him with booze on the night before the match and gave him a geisha girl to 'entertain' him. They were at it hammer and tongs and she kept groaning.."Goharder, goharder", so he thrusted more powerfully but she kept on shouting "goharder, goharder ".
In the morning he was shattered and on the first tee he hooked his drive so badly it went onto the 18th fairway, hit a tree, rolled on the 18th green and into the hole.
The crowd erupted and shouted "Goharder, goharder...Wrong hole, wrong hole."

Yes...playing a round with my wives 2 friends. Quite a nice threesome it was too.
They had played ahead and i was about to drive one through the middle...i i accidently slid one into the wrong hole.
I gladly accepted the 2 stroke penalty.
:)
