I think the decline in religious faith has caused a decline in morality (not just sexual morality) I speak only from the perspective of one Christian, myself. I feel that the lack of Christian faith is the equivalent of a ship in heavy weather without a rudder. Attempts are made to control the yaw with the engines if the ship has two or more but it is difficult. As the storm worsens it becomes impossible and unless a means can be found to anchor the ship in safe waters it is doomed. WE ea a bit like that. the lack of Christian faith and knowledge is causing us to drift in heavy seas. Some of us manage better than others for a time, but as the heavy weather worsens ( lack of belief and indifference or worse) so we are drifting deeper and deeper into trouble and nearer and merer the rocks or sandbanks from which we will not recover

I don't think it is down to non belief that society has gone down hill, I blame video games, tv, etc, and the fact that the political correctness brigade have taken away our right to chastise our kids. Parents, teachers, anyone of authority, have no control over these kids, the kids are the ones who arein charge now, we have people frightened to leave theri homes, this is the problem, a belief in God and the decline in religious practice has nothing to do with it, I am Atheist, but I bring my kids up with morals and empathy!! because thatis what is wrong in our capitalist world, there is not enough empathy for others, we all live in our own secure bubbles and sod everything else as long as it doesn't effect me!

By the decline of religion, you must mean the decline of Christianity. Islam & Judaism are thriving.

Immorality was practiced during the heyday of Christian hypocrisy in the 19th century.

Immorality is practised with the overall decline of Christianity, despite attempts to bring it back from the dead.

The fact that in some circles Christianity tolerates homosexuality is the writing on the wall.

Religions provide people with a set of rules to live by. These rules usually cover most aspects of personal conduct and so give clear guidance to acceptable standards of behaviour. These rules have been considered and evolved over the centuries.
As our societies become increasingly secular, we need to ensure that people still have a set of rules which promotes consideration, cooperation and the smooth operation of society.
A society without rules where individualism prevails is ultimately bad for everyone.

a solid place to initiate is to do a assessment between international places the place faith is in decline and the place faith is on the upward push. What social ameliorations have occurred? Why is faith growing to be/shrinking? I actual have examine somewhat in this, so listed right here are some developments I actual have observed. interior the united kingdom, maximum British are turning out to be extra secular. whether, there is likewise a upward push interior the Muslim inhabitants. Why is this? Is there a huge immigration of Muslims or are they gaining extra converts? Neither, actual. One type is that secular all and sundry is far less probably to have babies mutually as Muslims are extra probably to have extra advantageous populations. In secular international places, like Japan, inhabitants is lowering as a effect of secularization. one element to be certain why secular all and sundry is far less probably to have families in assessment to their religious counter-areas. yet another learn I examine confirmed the secularists are extra probably to dedicate suicide then religious human beings. maximum persons think of it is by way of fact religious human beings have self belief that suicide is a sin. whether, recent study practice that religious human beings triumph over melancholy quicker and the extra religious they're the extra probably they are in a position to handle hardships (like having maximum cancers). faith seems to inspire desire the place no faith seems to inspire melancholy while the going gets stressful. Now, some positives approximately secularism so as that i do no longer sound too biased.... Secularists tend to have larger IQs, earn extra funds, carry liberal political comments, and secular adult men tend to be extra devoted. sarcastically, secular adult men are much less probably to cheat on their better half then a non secular guy. So, why is it that there is a correlation between intelligence and secularism? those are issues that might assist you start. this is important which you do the study for your self, yet there's no longer something incorrect with needing somewhat course.

As far as I can see...religion is the root cause of most of the turmoil going on at the moment.
The most corrupt people in this world will get up every Sunday and go to church to try and rid themselves of the sins the had committed during the week.

YES and not just the decline of religion, it is what religion has accepted, the moral fabric of it has been torn in two, religion has accepted sins that God states he hates, the churches and cults are being sued for hiding pedophiles in it and we know how Jesus felt about children, religion has endorsed wars, hate.... we have left his guidelines to follow our own and have become like gods, the same lie that Satan told eve that you will become like God.

Consider that morality and religion might not be linked together. Have you not seen really religious immoral people? Have you not also seen the opposite? What then, does one have to do with the other?

Decline of bible standards has increased immorality. Just remember, not all religions actually follow the bible. We live in an erra where even preists promote the "if it feels good, do it" attitude. Lots of preists will say that God loves everyone no matter how they live, as long as they're happy with themselves. This, of course is untrue.

What you are seeing today is simply bible prophesy being fullfilled. And we know that we are living in the "last days". We are living in a selfish, "me first", society. People don't want God anymore, they want to please themselves (just like in the days of Noah).

2 Timothy 3

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Actually, there's been no decline in religion in American. In fact, religion is on the rise, according to statistics.

The population is growing in leaps and bounds because of illegal immigration that that is causing a steep rise in crime.

But Christianity is alive and well and growing rapidly. We are nearly ready for Christ's return!
