Biblically, the Bible tells us that God is the Giver of life, and that happens while still in the womb. It also acknowledges that God "weaves" us while still in the womb. Therefore, from the moment of conception, whether two cells or a billion cells, it is a human child simply taking form. This is not such a strange idea, for at the end of our life we look nothing like we did at mid-life.
Medically, from the moment of conception the two cells:
- have their own unique DNA;
- metabolize and oxidize on their own;
- will have their own unique, closed system blood supply;
- will have their own unique organs, from a beating heart to lungs to a brain;
- etc.
Basically the mother feeds the child and keeps it protected, not unlike the case after the child is born. The main difference that birth causes is that the baby's lungs breath directly from the air. This, however, has never been a definition of life.

To me, personally... Abortion is wrong if it is done as a form of birth control. Such as a woman continues to have sex without protection and continues to get pregnant. I believe in accidents [one or two] but if you choose not to wear protection and get pregnant you shouldn't have the choice of an abortion.
However, if a condom breaks, or any other form of birth control fails and there is an accident I believe having the choice to keep it, or aborting it. Why bring an unwanted child into the world with so many unwanted children in orphanages?
I also believe that if a girl or a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, she should not have to be forced to keep the child. It should be her decision. Other reasons for having an abortion include the health of the mother and the baby into consideration. If the mother's body cannot handle being pregnant at the time of conception, or the baby ends up having a major deformity [major being it will never live a normal, healthy life; or a happy one at that] then the most humane option for each would be to abort it.
Abortion should be a choice, but like all choices it should not be abused. It should be the parents' choice not society's.

To the person who stated: "Why bring an unwanted child into the world with so many unwanted children in orphanages?" Do YOU have any idea how many people are looking to adopt and there are NO children for adoption.
"Is it the death of a few cells?" These cells have formed a human being!
Do you realize that the concept of "pro-choice" SHOULD be the idea of choosing NOT to get pregnant in the first place?

i'm no longer non secular in any respect yet i do believe strongly that abortion is thoroughly incorrect. this is killing a infant. its no longer in effortless terms a "cluster of cells" bc that infant is a residing respiration and has finished emotions. infact the infant can surely experience soreness. a woman i understand went to her dr and that they informed her to abort her infant bc the infant's kidney's have been too massive and she or he did no longer abort him and she or he now has a healthful infant. they do have a fearful gadget and purely think of why did no longer your mom abort you? bc as you reported all you have been replaced right into a cluster of cells precise? look at a number of those data a million. Day 20: Foundations of the suggestions, spinal twine and fearful gadget are already universal. 2. Day 21: the middle starts off to triumph over. 3. Week 8: At slightly extra advantageous than an inch long, the appearance up existence is now reported as a fetus-- Latin for youthful one or offspring. each and every little thing is now recent which would be recent in a completely progressed person. the tummy produces digestive juices and the kidneys have all started to function. The fetus' physique responds to the touch, besides the incontrovertible fact that the mum isn't waiting to experience circulation till the fourth or 5th month. regardless of if human beings do no longer choose the infant there are lots of dad and mom obtainable hoping for a newborn so human beings can undertake it and riase it. my mom surely own's a e book a pair of lady who replaced into aborted and lived by means of it and she or he has cerebral palsy from the saline that her mom chosen to abort her with. i'm sorry it is so long please do no longer think of i'm loopy i purely hate abortion and that i'm hoping this opens your eyes.

I think it's the latter that makes abortion wrong (ie wrong to terminate someone else's spiritual journey).
But also (unless it is a medical necessity for health, or a product of rape) abortion is an abdication of responsibility, which is always bad for the spirituality of the person doing it (and anyone encouraging/coercing them).
Abortion often involves a great degree of dishonesty... which eats away at a person's soul.
In addition, abortion is bad for your health... a violation of your body and spirit.
Most women live to regret it.
EDIT: Anuolf - actually, there is a HUGE waiting list of childless couples seeking to adopt (in Australia). Why commit murder when you can give the gift of life to a little human, and also bring joy to childless couples? My sister in law got her first child from a relative who didn't want it... but she certainly wanted him! And now he is my nephew. I can only be glad that his mother had already decided that if she ever got pregnant by accident, she would give the child to those childless relatives of hers.
He'll be going to school in a year's time.

Abortion is murder. Science has shown that activities that correspond to being a living human begin to happen within the first few weeks of conception. So while some people hold that this is just a tissue until it is born, this is false. A baby is a human at the moment of conception, and God has stated that we should not kill.

Personally. I don't just judge someone for getting an abortion and call them a murderer.. I'm a christian and if I was raped or something.. I wouldn't want to bring a rape baby into the world..
But..
Google images of aborted children..
You can still have an abortian at 3 months..
At 3 months.. they baby.. is recognisable.. you can see features.. not just.. cells..
That's why people find it wrong.
Just google images of.. Abortion.
I'm against girls who'll just screw around and then when pregnant have the attitude of "Eh.. I'll just kill it."
But rape victims... that's another story.
***I have to admit, you didn't deserve that the person after me just said.
People abort for all reasons.
You didn't say you were aborting so you don't deserve to be abused.
If you were going to abort a baby, know that, it's already developing. And it's not as easy as just going to the doctors and .. "having it killed", it can effect you, physically and emotionally.
If they stuff up it could scar your uterus.. and that's not good.
Please don't rush into anything if you are considering it.
But if you truely CAN'T bring a baby into this world (if you're pregnant).. then maybe you should, or.. put it up for adoption.
The only case where I personally would abort would be rape because I know if tomorrow I found out I was a rape baby... I'd want to kill myself.

The human heart starts beating 19 days after conception. There are brainwaves 40 days after conception. Abortion stops a beating heart.
Abortion is murder.

At 21 days the heart begins to beat, and most abortions are performed afterwards.
I beleive abortion has nothing to do with religion, but killing a child.

Popular logic states that abortion is murder, and it is. However, religion decides what is right and what is wrong, while God gave man and woman free will to choose. Therefore, regardless of what religion says is right and wrong, every one of us has to defend our decisions and our actions at our appointed time, and trust me, the leaders of the religions of this Earth will not be there to hold your hand. You know the difference and you must decide for yourself.
