Anxiety kept me from going to school
i would want to go but as soon as i would get there i couldn't get out of the car and ended up with tears
But im finally starting to get better

If you have it and it's serious enough get the right counseling or medication for it. I am glad you have spoken to your dad and also your doctor. Apparently there is a physiological component to it.
I had some kind of OCD when I was 12. It contributed to an Anxiety disorder and depression. The OCD made it easier to ruminate on certain thoughts. I have to monitor my thoughts dwelling on the wrong thing can snowball.

yeah i was about 14 when it manifested, and it was times of stress i wud start cleaning my hands and washing things.
i grew out of it at the end of adolescence and never think about it now. in fact lol i am the opposite.
still very anxious person but no OCD.
Just make urself cut back on the cleaning and the washing and allow urself to see you wont get sick/nothing bad will happen.
u can make ur skin really bad by washing too much

yes you have ocd, plus you have a family record. ocd can developed at any age.
Some research has discovered a type of size abnormality in different brain structures. The majority of researchers believe that there is some type of abnormality in the neurotransmitter serotonin. so its just a matter of time that the symptoms will occur.
but knowing it earlier means you can have earlier therapy. there's no succesful treatment yet, but it can reduce it.

I developed OCD when I was about 7 years old, no joke. It can result from many things but the important thing is not letting it take control of you.

It may be OCD, but who cares. Unless it rules you life, then don't worry about it. I had a "checking" habit that becomes worse when I am anxious - checking to make sure the stove is off, etc. BUT - it was starting to affect my life so I just refused to do it anymore. YOU control your mind, don't let it control you!

it can develope at any age...these habbits are caused by fear and anxiety..there is an underlying root cause..if it doesnt bother you then..its not ocd...but if it scared you..then its a anxiety disorder
