If you loved your dogs you would get your male neutered and your female spayed. Females can get pregnant on their very first heat cycle, anywhere from 7 months-15 months and males can impregnate females when they are as young as 7 months old.

Tell your parents to be responsible and fix your dogs. Spayed/neutered dogs live longer, healthier lives.

If you neuter your male you would not have to worry about Testicular Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Prostatitus, inappropriate marking, aggression, and you would significantly cut down his chances of running away. Males can sense a female in heat and WILL find a way to get to them.

If you spay your female you will not have to worry about Mammary Cancer, Cancer of her reproductive organs, Pyometria, cleaning up her blood while she is in heat, and unwanted pregnancy.

My advice would be to NOT bring the female into your home until your male is neutered. Then you can introduce her, spay her, and enjoy your dogs!

Labs are a hip problem breed so they BOTH must be 2 yr for an OFA on the hips. Or do you really want 10 puppy buyers trying to get YOU to pay $2-3,000 for hip surgery? (and in some states puppy lemon laws will require you to pay) AKC will not accept registry at less than 9 months (meaning they believe it not possible for most dogs) but a few early maturing males have sired litters at 6 months - and a few 18 month male have proven too young.... Probaly you should seperate them when she is in heat regardless of the ages-

you need to get them neutored and spayed.a search has proven that spayed dogs live longer than dogs not spayed and pregnant dogs can result in death and you need to know how to do all this stuff and be experienced and you dont sound like you are becaus if you were youd know the answer to this question.go to every animal shelter in town and ask yourself why you want to add to this world of so many unwanted dogs.plus youll have to take care of about 8 newborns which can die easily.when their born theyl have to be rushed to the vet and each given a shot thats $300 or theyll die.ya,thats a lot of money.plus your female will have her period all over the house.you obviously are not a breeder, but if you want to do this i would research some more about taking care of newborns and wait till the boy is 2.hopefully she does not hook herself up with another dog in the mean time.lol

that's a dominance difficulty. Your castrated Cocker Spaniel isn't giving off male heady scent, and your finished male is attempting to declare his male dominance and he's getting away with it using fact your Cocker Sp. is submissive, and not seeing him off. that's a coaching difficulty. you're able to up the exercising, is rather using fact at under a 365 days, he don't have the legs walked off him purely yet. And while he starts this, do away with your Spaniel, tell your Black Lab No!! and supply him some thing else to concentration his interest on. in spite of the undeniable fact that, as quickly as you like, e book him in to be castrated too. this would possibly no longer completely end this behaviour, and to be user-friendly, I want to pass away castration till a male is nearer to 18 months, yet hence, i think of that's properly worth reserving him in for the op. yet talk on your vet approximately what's occurring - he might have some suggestion for you in case you pick for to attend somewhat before castrating him (chemical castration could be an selection - and that's not everlasting!).

Labrador retrievers should not be bred younger than 2 years old because they must be 2 to be OFA xrayed for hip and elbow problems. Labs can have tons of genetic problems and it costs thousands to properly breed them and even then you can still have health problems. Spay and neuter your dogs. Please leave the breeding to the people that know what they are doing.

You have absolutely got to be kidding! There are 17,743 homeless labs and lab mixes on petfinder. com right now, and you are asking how to breed more????? Yes, I said 17,743 homeless lab and lab mix dogs.
Statistics show that labrador retrievers are one of the top euthanized dogs in the US because of the sheer volume of labs bred in this country.
Please do some homework before concocting a hair-brained scheme like breeding more.

Please pay attention to the number of animals that are destroyed every year due to irresponsible breeding. If you love your dogs, you'll do what's right and have them spayed and neutered. I also have a lab, so this is very near and dear to me -- our breed is an exceptionally popular breed and because it is, there are too many labs and lab mixes that have no home. Please do not add to their overpopulation, but have your babies spayed and neutered. It's better for their health, and your wallet...in both cases the cost of breeding is very high. Instead, give your dogs the best life you can give them and they will repay you threefold.

Oh goody..
He can't be bred til he is at least 2 years of age.. Female same thing.. Don't forget to research and talk to your vet PRIOR to breeding the 2 dogs. If your vet tells you it's okay to breed earlier than 2 years of age.. Find a new vet!

It depends on the dog. Six months to a year old. Get him neutered if you don't want pups. You should get the girl spayed too, so she doesn't become pregnant by hooking up with a stray dog.

He has to be at least a year old.

However, it would be a better option to spay the female and neuter the male. There are far more dogs that need homes than homes that will take them in.
