Hope you get to read this in time!!

First, remember it's ok and normal to be nervous. It gets that adrenaline going to help you get through - to pump you up!! Turn it into a positive thing . . . maybe instead of thinking of it as nervousness, think of it as "excitement". You worked really hard - and now you finally get to do it. Show time!

Think only positive thoughts. Envision doing all the moves well - yesterday's lesson was yesterday, so leave it there . . . today is a different day.

When you get to the rink, warm up and stretch as you normally do - and stay warm. Some people listen to music so they can tune out anyone else who is testing or competing. I always talked too much and joked around with my coach when I was nervous (which was a lot) - but that was my way. I liked to tighten up all my muscles (pretend that I'm turning into a little teeny ball) and then relax - let all the tension go.

BREATHE. Very important. Nervousness tends to make one hold their breath. You need oxygen so your system won't poop out! When you get to your starting position, close your eyes, take one deep breath, remind yourself you CAN do this and go!

Take your time. Think about each step as you go . . . think in the present. Get FS out of your mind until MIF is done.

Best of luck to you! I'll keep my skating toes crossed in hopes that you pass - wink!

Dont worry, the judges are pretty easy on your first test. Dont forget to smile and look like you are having a blast. Point your toes, and keep you hear high. Even if you moves are shaky, the smile will help alot. The judges are more likely to pass you if your moves are okay, but you look like youre haveing the time of your life rather than a move thats great but you look like its torture.
Before you skate, take a couple of deep breaths, and visualize yourself skating a clean test and program.
Good luck! I hope you read this in time, and I hope you pass!

You posted eight hours ago and I since we just got back from our competition ourselves, I am going to assume that you have already tested and just ask:

**HOW DID YOU DO??**

I bet you passed!!

Like others have posted the tester are really pretty kind on your first test since this is really more about getting out there and getting it out of your system. That's why the kind of funny name.

And you coach knows that you are ready!

Now if you didn't happen to pass, don't worry!! You aren't the first. It was just a matter of your nerves getting the better of you and taking away your confidence. Now that you know what it is like you wont be able to miss next time!

Worrying will not affect the results of your drug test one way or the other. The home drug test likely has a higher threshold to indicate a positive than whatever method your potential employer uses. In other words, you could very well pass a home drug test but fail a laboratory drug test. If I took a couple of hits last week and had to pee in a bottle next week I'd be scared sh*tless.

Relax!! :) You've probably gone over your elements tons of times and done them very well. We all have those days when we don't skate very well and when you come back, things are just fine! Now just perform just like you've practiced. Put your muscles on auto pilot (because I'm sure they have everything memorized) and smile! Perform for the judges! You'll do great!

Relax, listen to music, and don't over think your moves. Go out there and do your moves like they are in a good lesson, and think positive thoughts. Good luck!

just go early in the morning or something and ask a private ice coach or something!! don't worry! its not they r gonna bounce you back a level or something, and if you don't make it just keep practicing! ice skating is hard core and if you love it i suggest keep prcticing, czu i'v found out since ice skating is a hard/expensive sport, thats why its so unique and not a lot of people feel the same way about it like we do! i love ice skating and it makes me feel unique in so many ways! good luck!
