He'll be able to tell if you really have changed. If you changed your personality or something like that just to please him, then change might not have been a good thing and nothing will really make him happy. If you thought you had some habits or negative personality traits (we all have some) and were trying to better yourself just to better yourself, then he'll notice that. If he doesn't, then move on. It sounds like you've just tried to change to get this guy back or make him stay and that's probably not a good reason to change.

The only way to prove to a person that you've changed is to not act the way you've done in the past. And you have to stick to it.

just be the "new" you.
if you really actually have changed, it wont be hard AT ALL.
but if you're fooling yourself into thinking u have changed...it wont be too easy.
