if you fall in love on alcoholic person (girl/boy) do you still like him/her? why?

that is one of the worse relationships i can think of. an alcoholic or drug addict will only get worse without strong intervention and will take you down the tubes as well. would you want someone out of control or sleeping all the time... possibly arrested or in and out of jail or prison. someone capable of killing someone in a car... someone who jeopardizes your well being.. sanity... home and family. someone whose personality changes.. constantly. someone who wastes money on booze or drugs. someone who is destroying their body and mind.? someone who eventually loses interest in everything except drugs or alcohol. you can like that person.. or can even love them... but they will eventually destroy your feelings over time. with all that said.. you can guide them to recovery... but you cannot save them. they have to save themselves. even parents have to let lose sometimes to maintain their sanity and save their own lives.

my mom was a alcoholic, and i would never fall in love with someone after growing up with that
however, she has been clean for a year as of tomorrow! :)

alcoholism is an illness, an addiction and it destroys lives and relationships.
loving and liking the alcoholic isn't a problem. the problem is his or her addiction. the alcoholic has to find a way to get better.
we can't cure them.

I probably would. Just because he's an alcoholic don't mean he/she can't be liked just means they have a problem that needs to be delt with. Until they deal with that problem I wouldn't get involve with him/her.

I would think very carefully before getting myself involved with an alcoholic...Too risky and dangerous.
