For instance, when you see a cat preparing to leap, say, from a chair to a doorstep, it always poises its self, checks everything out, and jumps with absolute precision. But do they ever miss their targets? I suppose nervous accidents and non-concentration are human traits, but can they also apply to other animals?

Of course they do! With cats, for example, only every one hunt in eight is successful. The other seven times, they leap a little too soon or too late and the prey escapes.
Also, when you are playing with a domestic cat and it is jumping around, it can very easily become disoriented and fall over.
Deer and mountain goats often feel from cliffs and die. Swamp animals wander too deep into the mud and drown. Birds collide with towers and windows.

Animals are just as prone to accidents as we are, the only difference is that humans use SO many more dangerous tools and objects that are beyond our control - huge machinery, fast cars... and all that makes accidents more likely to happen.

Considering EVERY one of our five cats has fallen into the toilet and slipped off the top section of the cat tree in the living room....and I've seen one run head first into the couch when he missed making his leap UP, yes, they do get really accident prone occasionally.

Accidents do occur! Just be definite to determine the showering desktop subsequent time... :-) Well, I have witnessed three injuries with my pets to this point. When I used to be an adolescent, we had a longhaired cat known as Tigga. One day, my mother by accident trod on his tail and seeing that he bolted off so rapidly.... the end of his tail got here off.. it healed through the years! The moment time, my boyfriend used to be being a bit of foolish and poked his palms in our hamster's cage to mention good day. His palms have got to have smelt tasty seeing that my hamster rapidly chomped down on his finger, inflicting the door of the cage to fly open with the hamster nonetheless on his finger, after which inflicting the hamster to drop directly to the ground! She used to be quickly properly again in her cage once more! The last coincidence used to be in the course of the primary few days of getting our new kitten. I used to be sporting the laundry basket into an additional room while she ran among my ft and I by accident trod on her belly. She concealed beneath the mattress for 10 mins. I used to be petrified that I had damaged her ribs, however fortunately she used to be satisfactory. Pets, eh! xx Emmie

Oh man, I've seen my cat jump and miss a million times! Just on the counter, she didn't get hurt or anything.
Also, my pug is as dumb as a box of rocks (love him to death though!).....he has non-concentration related accidents just about daily!

oh yeah, haven't you ever seen America's Funniest Home Videos? Happens all the time.
My cat used to walk off my grandmother's porch all the time. If the sun got in his eyes, he couldn't quite judge where the edge of the porch was, and he'd fall off of it. Another cat I had would fall asleep in the window and fall out.

They certainly do, and they look so ashamed afterwards. My cat used to check if anyone saw her and walk off all emabarassed wagging her tail lol!

I now have an iguana and he sometimes slips off his branch and gets a bit annoyed if we laugh. My snakes dont though, theyre far too dignified.

Sure they do, especially when they are kittens and still learning about the world. It helps that they have claws to hang on when they miss!
