NO! We created 'god' in our image.
Of course he has a belly button.
He's got hair in his ears too.

Image doesn't mean photocopy but should be taken as symbolic.I think the meaning is more qualitative than physical.How come that a 'navel' has become so important to you that you thought of nobody except a God?

I think what is meant by 'made in his image' is that humans reflect God's qualities (at an imperfect level) not appearance. But since no one has ever seen God, who is to say if he has a navel or not?

If we are all in His image, how is it we all look different?
How can a white person and a black person both be in God's image? Is God white, black or yellow?
short or tall? fat or slim? frizzy hail or straight? what language does He speak?

God is a spirit and therefore He does not have a fixed form like us.
What does it mean that He "created us in His image"? It means He created us morally upright, to know good and to do good.

I think so, Yes. It says we were created in His image, I think that includes the belly button. :-) (((HUGS))) I like this question!
In Scripture, it does say that God walked amoung us for 300 years (prior to the 1st coming of Jesus Christ).
Genesis 5:22
And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
