That is not an easy question to answer because everything I have learned in my life is from my past. I would say my past effects my decision making in the present. I would like to believe it is all for the best, but I know I have and I will make some poor judgments today and in the future. I do the best I can and hope I learn the right lessons from the past and not the wrong ones so I can avoid a cloudy future.
Good Luck!!!

Past, present and future are linked being on the same linearity of Time and therefore have some influence on one another. As Present is turning in to Past every moment ,it's natural for them have some links in varying degrees of impact or influence.Theories like 'cause and effect' or 'Karma theory' try to explain these connections but not in all respects.Simply put, as what we had eaten yesterday affects our digestion today, the past also affects us in the present.WE should not read too much in to it but should try and live well in our today.

I think it depends on every ones situation...
you only have one life to live, so we just have to make the Best out of every situation... don't worry about the things you can't change but change the things you can :)
I find myself in a somewhat difficult situation right now, but I try not to dwell on it and just try to stay positive no matter what... because it's my life, it's up to me what I make out of it... the time that I waist away... on dwelling on the negative... may not come back again, because time is so precious... Tomorrow isn't promised to me or anyone, and the more I think & dwell on the negative... the more it will affect not just my present life but also my future as well...
May God bless you âº

For better or for worse, events of the past shape our outlook on the present and prospects for the future. For example, most of us don't feel the need to burn ourselves daily on a hot stove because having done so once, we have forever imprinted that sensation into our experience base. Similarly a person who has persevered and remained on course with their educational pursuits can reasonably expect to have greater earning potential in the future. It is a relationship in concert with physical law...cause and effect; action and subsequent reaction.

Time is a difficult thing to balance. We must learn from the past, but we can't live in it. We must live for today, but we can't always do what we want to. We must not fear tomorrow, but rather prepare for it. When we regret too much from the past, we stop growing and spend our time looking backward. The way we view our histories changes throughout our lives. We control where it's going, but not where it's been. We must always remember that it is not too late to change things for the better.

Like this....what you are, and who you will become, will all be a result of what has gone into, and what will continue to go into your "mind" the "mind grows" on what it is fed. this is why they say we are a "product of our enviornment", and this includes "everything and everybody" all the events, good and bad.. even though we have "choice, and resistance, and will power, these things" these things seem to "stain" our "self" some good others bad, like they are imbedded into us over a period of time...and being creatures of "habit" they are the things that are done over and over "repetitiously" Now, when we identify something that we do not wish, we can change that....how? by "changing what goes into our minds" here is the rule...sow a thought..reap an action...sow an action reap a habit....sow a habit reap a character...sow the charecter reap a destiny.......lol...lol....hope this helps you....its a "crash course" , ..................lol

Smokers... often suffer from Emphysema and Drinkers often suffer from Cholestasis of the Liver!
In the same way... any Addictive Behavior... can make every day Life..... habit forming!
(Galatians 6:7-8-9) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
(Gal 6:8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(Gal 6:9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Thanks, RR

It doesn't. The past is the past. There is nothing you can do to change the past. You deal with it and move on. Only today is important, not yesterday or tomorrow.

Many things from the past can continue to haunt you for years to come.
Those foolish financial decisions you made.
Not continuing your education.
That one night of pleasure that resulted in a child.
The list goes on and on.

You have to deal with the consequences of good and not so good things you've done in the past.
