I'm having an abortion. What to tell work collegues? I am having an abortion at 24 weeks gestation (not something I would normally even consider) as I found out 2 weeks ago that my baby would be born with club feet and with the possibility of never being able to walk.Anyway my abortion is due in 3 days and I'm really worried about taking time off work.I thought the procedure (which I will be getting privately) would only take a few hours at the most but the procedure ALONE will take four hours and I have to stay for 12 hours at least for after care! I have already taken so much time off work already as there have been so many complications with the pregnancy and this isn't even supposed to be my maternity leave yet! What can I tell my work collegues? I obviously will have to tell them the truth eventually but at the moment I don't wish to.I feel I can't take anymore time off work 4 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details 3 hours ago I am the boss but it's very hard for the company to continue with me gone. They need me to organise everything and they are struggling without me. u really need to stop lying two post bout the same thing u need to get ur facts right and stop lying all ur after is attention and this is sure enuff the wrong way to go about it

It may be unborn, but it's still a CHILD. And what mother in her right mind doesn't love children?

I loved both of my children while still unborn. It is because you know that they are a gift from God and are precious to him. For me the start of my love was the day I found out that I was pregnant. When I saw the ultrasound pictures I knew that they were truly a miracle and deserve unconditional love. My son is almost three years old and my daughter is 14 months old. My love continues to grow for both of them every day.

If you are a woman - it is EASY to love your unborn child because you feel it growing inside of you, you feel it moving. It is a wonder and joy that no one can explain. I am not sure a man or a woman that has not been pregnant can fully understand it.
Also - if you have a wayward child, no matter what that child does to you, you never stop loving him/her. You can be angry, you can hate what they do, but you NEVER stop loving and caring for that child.

I don't think you really love your unborn child but more the idea of it. The real emotional attachment is created only later when you can communicate with your child.

If you love your partner, you love the idea that you are about to give birth to an expression of that love. It is a very strange feeling. But, I don't think you really love the child until you see it.

I already told you you can't. You love the *idea* of that child. (You are talking about a pregnant mother I assume?)

Any baby can be and should be loved.
Many can survive if born early.
