First thing, buy some drag radials for your rear wheels. (drag radials are perfectly street legal) I think you can fit 275-40-R16 on your stock rims. Nitto makes awsome drag radials. Not only do they hook great, but they actually have descent tread life as long as you arent burring them up every single time you accelerate. On a scale of 1-10 the nittos are probally a 8/10 for traction but a 9/10 for tread life. The BFG drag radials give you a little more traction, they are probally a 9/10 traction but they have very little tread life, they are like a 5/10 when it come to tread life. With the drag radials, you won't believe the difference it makes in your abillity to launch. Once they heat up a little, they will launch you like you wont believe. I own a 535rwhp 04 cobra and have nitto drag radials and even with my hp, I can launch at around 3k and floor it in every gear from 2nd gear all the way up. For your next step, it depends how far you want to take it. If it were me I would look around for a someone that is selling there eaton supercharger off there cobra because they are upgrading to a kenne bell or whipple. You can pick one up for really cheap, it wont cost you much more then the xpipe and headers, and its an instant 150hp. If you are not looking for that much hp then go with your full exhaust with the xpipe and headers and rear gears. You are definately on the right track, another thing you could do is some under drive pulleys. Which ever route you go, good luck and have fun.

You hit the nail right on the head! Gears Headers And X pipe. Then a set of drag race rear rubber. After that a procharger. And deep pockets feeding fuel to it.

Sounds good so far... X or H pipe will work... for rear end gears get something in the mid to high 3's.... like 3.92 I like.... also like one guy mentioned get a high stall torque converter like 2400 stall from B+M..... take a look at your heads and see if they are the big valve ones, if not price a set of big valve heads and get stainless steel valves in them as well. You can also look into cams too..... .290/.490 duration and lift..... something like that. Have fun.

x pipe is money well spent

rear gears will give you the end of the track speed - if your correct on the gear set.

Short throw shifter for faster shifts

Trans brake so it will launch harder. - my S10 has this

a set of dot drag radials

Just pop for a nitrous kit...most bang for the buck and removable/swapable yet retains driveability and economy for normal use. My brother put one in his 96 Z28 and turns 12.90 with no other mods---bone stock.

well you have the basic's ......like you said gears, exhaust ,fuel up grade(injectors, mass, air, metering plate) its a little cheaper than the super charger. and if you got a automatic tranny look into a stall convertor
