There sure are black Great Danes. Black is one of the 6 recognized Dane colors.
The recognized colors:
Fawn, Brindle, Black, Blue, Harlequin, Mantle

There are probably more Black Great Danes than any other color. I know the majority of Great Danes in rescue are Blacks according to statistics.
The colors as per the standard are Black, Blue, Brindle, Fawn, Harl, and mantle. Those are the only colors allowed to show in AKC conformation events.
