I am 29, in divorce, high stress job, to children 3 and 5, finanacial problems, the american normal. I am looking for some ideas to reduce stress and gain energy. My mom have recommended a daily walk and some exercise, change in eating so I am working on that. I also am having an undertimed medical problem and she said I need to learn to destress and that might help. Any other advice that may make a difference in my life?

Music is important. Sing when you are stressed.
Sleep is necessary. Make it a priority.
Put your problems in a separate place. Don't dwell on them 24/7.
Best wishes.

Dont drink so many energy drinks or caffeine dependant drinks as this is a big influence into anxiety attacks. Stress needs to be thought out thouroughly and a system needs to be implemented to minimise it, it is no use going off to do a sport or activity to reduce stress if the product of it is still there. For starters do not take on too much that adds too stress, delegating problems helps eleviate stress, not thinking oto much into problems (over analysing) also causes major stress, also dont understand why people do this its obsurd.

Hi there. Im in the same situation as you. I felt like my stress levels were about to explode! I joined the gym and did a few boxing classes. Even a 20 minute walk on the treadmill everyday did wonders for my stress levels. It abled me to sleep better at night. I also changed my eating habits. Try eating fresh fruit, vegetables and meat, stay away from fried foods, coffee, and alcohol. Drink 2 litres of water a day, and treat yourself to a massage every month or so. Why not, your worth it!

My dear if there was an answer to this question then we would already being doing it.
Your moms advice is very good, she is on the right track. Also find some 'ME' time. Go out for a coffee, movies, window shopping etc on your own., this is NOT being selfish. Having a support net work of friends and family is essential too.
Get any underlying medical problems seen to and remember YOU are IMPORTANT too!!! Your hopes, dreams and ambitions matter. Never lose sight of YOURSELF. You are more than just a mom, employee, cook, maid etc You are YOU and that counts. I'll be your friend if you want.

Regular exercise and lots of sunlight! Also try to see a nutritionist about your diet. They can be extremely beneficial in letting know where your current diet can lead to deficiencies and to tailor it to your specific needs. I would try this for at least a year, and if there really isnt a change then I would suggest seeking medical help and maybe geting put on some type of antidepressant.

Making realistic goals is important, though I know how many of your days may have unreasonable but mandatory goals built in. Be realistic in planning your day.
Do your best to see the things in the most positive light, as a contest, rather than a burden, believe it or not this works!
Finally, if you have faith in God, prayer is an amazing de-stresser. To know you're in God's hands can be amazing peace in the midst of the storm.
Good Luck!
