oh my husband has a few disorders and has to take many meds every day. He had depression and anxiety and anger problems (mentally) plus some physical problems with his heart and seizures. He has to be careful because many meds that treat one are bad for the other. You need to be sure to always tell doctors every med you take and get them from the same pharmacy. That will help screen for interactions but also you need to watch the changes in your own body.

Suffer, occasionally, I deal with high blood pressure , Which I take medication for. I have diabetes the numbers are under control by diet , but the nuropathy has been unbearable. I am not on medication for either of those, I also have a bipolar problem, livable because I work on it 24/7 no medication. and I have less then 2/3rds of a kidney . Being born with only one and going through kidney cancer surgery and ablations twice. My kidney function fluctuated , but is up to 40 last I had it checked . I don't take medication by choise , I have decided that I am going to die, but it won't be because I paid good money for meds that my body can't remove. So, my doctors treat what they can and let me handle the rest. I am at peace with that now.

I suffer from ADHD with comorbid Major Deppressive Disorder. I take Straterra for the ADHD and Wellbutrin for the depression. I have also recently started to take a multivitamin and Omega 3 fish oil, as I have heard that this can help alot. I went to a psychologist. It took about 6 months to finnally iron out everything and come up with a proper diagnosis. I had always been treated and diagnosed as just chronically depressed. Turns out that the depression resulted from untreated ADHD that I apparently have had my whole life. I had to see a medical doctor for medication evaluation and treatment. The therapist and doctor worked together, and So far things are getting better.

The depression is the hardest to deal. I have to get out of that 10000 pound bed and 10000 house and make myself get dress and when it bad I talk to someone that take the power off.

Hey Brooklynn:

Yes, I suffer from more than 1 mental illness including Bipolar, OCD, ADHD and more.

Getting the right meds for the right illness is easy and childs play to an MD, but it becomes difficult and at times down right hard to treat more than 1 illness at the same time with meds.

When this happens I call it the playing the med game.
the doc needs to find the right combo of meds that fit your body. In other words, the combo that works for me may not work for you even if the same illnesses are being treated. so different meds amd different combos of meds are tried and this continues until the right mixture is found that works for you.

You need time and patience to find the combo that works for you. Please stick it out, the right combo will be found eventually, honest.

Be safe and be well
J xx

Does mentally handed cap and mentally deficient mean the same thing or they two different things? I'm sorry but I have a long day, I'm on tranquilizers and sleeping pills. I have a problem with stress since my heart attack.

Lots of people do. It's sometimes called dual diagnosis. Your doctor should be aware of all your conditions and prescribe you things that don't interact negatively with each other.
