there's an awesome catholic parish called ''sacred heart'' a few blocks from my house. i live in a small town that was once considered to be the old west (in missouri), and the architecture downtown reflects that. i took some black and white photos and plan on decorating my house with them if i ever get around to buying some frames. sacred heart cathedral is included in those pictures.
if i had to argue though, i like the eastern orthodox churches just about as much. there are lots of russian and ukrainian immigrants that have moved here over the past few years, and they're bringing some of the traditional orthodox architecture with them, which is really cool.
traditional churches in general are beautiful, if you like art and architecture. my own church (i'm a confessional lutheran) is nice, especially on the inside, because they used the old traditional german structure, with the open ceiling, and the big wooden beams exposed.

Well of course we do, dear. We HAVE had a great deal more time to learn how to do it right.
On the other hand, Hindu, Shinto and Buddhist temples are places of great beauty too; well.... some of them anyway.

Beauty is subjective. I personally find outdoor archaic druid monuments where they do their rituals far more moving aesthetically than a contrived and overly decorated cathedral.

Catholic churches have always seemed very ominous and brooding to me. I think Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples are more beautiful.

catholic churches are not only dreary, depressing , eye sores . But they are monstrous boils on the good face of mother earth and a total waste of space.

Beautiful church does not count. What it counts is the teachings of one religion.
