Its great to see people enjoying themselves but isn't it getting a bit corny to watch a bunch of twerps wetting their pants just because they are bobbing up and down and making lots of noise?

What a shame that there are twerps like you mis-defining the term 'concept'.

The Last Night of the Proms is not a concept, it is a British Tradition.

People book up to a year in advance to actually get seats inside the Royal Albert Hall for the last night.
We get music lovers from all over the world desperate to be there.

If you find it corny, then don't watch it!

What a shame that there are all these twerps like me running around who have the audacity to like, understand, and appreciate classical music.

Isn't the concept of disliking a genre of music because you know nothing about it getting a bit tiresome? And people call US snobs!

No, it's tradition. One day, someone will declare the stoned and soaking twerps squelching about in mud at Glastonbury concept is a bit tired. Then watch for the fallout!

Why are they 'twerps?' Don't music lovers of all genres enjoy moving to their music?
As for the concept, well I guess advance bookings for the concert should answer that question

Certainly not. If you saw the Last Night on Saturday I cannot see why you would think such a thing. It was fabulous. It remains one of the few place where one can publicly sing "Land of Hope and Glory" and"Rule Britannia" without getting your collar felt. Long may it cintinue. The atmosphere was amazing. The world's greatest music festival.

Why is it then that the Last Night appears even more popular than ever?

Thousands and thousands of people out in various venues celebrating the best of British culture.

Good for them!
