Okay, I'm aware its my baby and I get to name it, I want to get an idea of how the public would view the names. I was raised with a unusual name, Kirstin Kay, and I loved it, no one had my name, I felt special. I would want my child to feel the same. So, I don't want anything popular, I want a nice old-fashioned name. What do you people think of these?
Boy- James Beauregard
Girl- Magnolia Anne (would be called Maggie Anne)

Dont shorten it. I like Magnolia
As for James be prepared for Jim bo or Jim Beau. Even if you dont shorten it someone else will.

Well for starters nowadays children generally aren't called by both names so your son would most likely get called James and if a common name isn't what you want then I'm afraid that's not the way to go. If an old fashioned name is what you want check your ancestry for great grandparents or go further back. My cousins name was Casey Ann but no-one refers to her that way they all assume that Ann is a middle name and she is just called Casey. Sorry I'm no further help.

To me beauregard sounds like someones last name but I like the james, as for the magnolia anne well I dunno I mean its unusual but it's nice and different, either way you will end up choosing what you like but those names that you have picked may not suit the baby when it comes you know what I mean like you may like the name James and Magnolia but when she comes along she may be a Hannah or a Natalie or a Vince or a Callum, you know? But I do like those names. Good luck on the baby

If you don't plan on using a double name or anything, James itself is really very common.
And while I'm sure I'll be one of a select few, I've actually always liked Magnolia (Nola is another nickname option here). The sort that only go in for popular or trendier names probably won't care for it, though. As long as you're comfortable with that, I think it's a keeper. ;)

Both of those names are beautiful. I have a friend names Christian Lynn and I like that one too. If I would have had a son I would have named him Zachary Raymond. You have time to think about this which is hard with so many to choose from. When your baby is born it will only take a moment to see what he or she looks like and you will know what to do.
Congratulations
