I'm looking for an NFL team to support as I want to take an interest in the sport which has extra coverage on British tv now. I know hardly anything specific about teams and players but I do know the games rules. I support Liverpool in the EPL and would preferebly like to support a similar team. One that has a great history but been struggling recently and now looking like getting back to their best with an outside chance of superbowl success. Any suggestions welcome although i'm not too keen on the colts as that would be the simplest choice. Thanks for your help

Try this - play fantasy football!

It will help you learn the nuances of the game, the positions, etc. It will also give you several players on your fantasy team that you're pulling for each week - that will mean there's several teams you have a vested interest in, becoming de facto fans. And then, at the end of the season, you'll know the league and the game a lot better, and maybe one of those teams you followed will have grown on you and you can adopt it as your permanent team :)

Just remember, there's no relegation or anything in the NFL. When you pick a team, its pretty much for life, come good or come bad.

San Francico 49ers--They have a great quarterback who is going to have a stellar year with a talented TE in Davis and a star HB in Gore. Also they went out and spent 22 mil signing a DB because they needed the help I think they'll easily make playoffs this year and continue to have success throughout the next three years or so. Also they have gtreat tradition and were the team of the eighties and nineties. They have a good coach and you wouldn't look bandwagon by jumping on to thir team as a fan

The Green Bay Packers!!

They have the largest fan base around the world and have won the most national championships.

If you want to check them out, go to greenbaypackers.com and you can check the team out.

The Pack have been struggling the last few years, but this will be a comeback year. The Pack QB, Brett Favre, is one of the best to every play the game and he is very exciting to watch as well.

Go Pack!! (the game starts in 30 minutes)

Well no team has a better background in the NFL than the Dallas Cowboys.

They have FIVE superbowl rings and they are on the verge of breaking back into it!

They have one of the greatest athletes in Terrel Owens who is our star WR and also gets a ton of publicity. They also have a great qb who is a great feel good story. His name is Tony Romo and this is going to be his first full year as the starting qb. But believe me, When you see him play you will think he is someone who has been leading the team for the last five years.

Plus he has a hot chick that gets special coverage when she is at the games and that is Carrie Underwood! look her up.. shes fine!

I would like to be the first Cowboys fan to welcome you to the family!

Because of the draft system, the best team tends to rotate a lot, and inevitable injurys to QB's always keeps the competition fairly open.

Different teams have different styles. Where conditions are dry, like california, dallas and miama you can expect a lot of passing. Where the weather is poor then the focus is more on a running game, green bay and chicago.

NY and Washington seem to focus on good linemen, other teams focus on the best defencive backs.

Washington are always a good watch, and would fit in with a with a Reds theme. They are probably a good place to start.

I guess you have to look at why you chose Liverpool....Is it the attitude, offence, defence, high scoring team. In the NFL people like different teams outside of there city/state very often. I dig the Stl Rams, because of a runningback that was drafted in 1984 Eric Dickerson, I also like them because of their focus on offense, I love watching higher scoring contests. On the other hand Some people like low scoring conservative teams......Have fun.
