This came to me in a dream last night. It was very large and clear.

In Tarot readings the Death card typically means that the end of a stage or phase is coming and that end is likely very significant. For example, it could me moving to a new home, starting a new grade in school, or getting a new job. Very rarely it will mean the physical death of an individual, but usually the other cards in the reading will also point in that direction as well.

Since the card showed up in a dream you must look at thing larger dream to decide what the card means. The reason you must do this is partly to make sure there is some symbolic meaning to the dream as well as provide the clues as to the cards meaning that a full Tarot spread would offer.

In terms of determining if the card has symbolic meaning you must look at the other details of the dream to see if they make any sort of sense. If they do then odds are the dream may have deeper meaning; however, if they don't then it may just be a random element in a random dream.

For details of the dream might provide additional detail as to the cards meaning you are going to want to look for things that can be impacted by significant change - if the card appeared in a dream about date then the card may symbolize the relationship either moving to a new stage or ending.

1: It could easily be a random image in a random dream.
2: It could be a piece of art which you really love. Cards are often beautiful, and artists often go all out to make the death card meaningful and lovely.
3: You're worrying about death. Is there anything you haven't taken care of (forgot to sign will+health proxy, skipped your last checkup, haven't had the brakes checked, a friend that's taking risks)?
4: If you already knew what the card means (commonly change, occasionally death), your mind's stewing over related issues. Is there a change you haven't had the nerve to make?
5: You might have actually been predicting things in your sleep.
5: That was a bit of a nightmare. Maybe you're weirded out by death / the occult / tarot cards / someone who does readings for you / something else altogether.

the death card doesn't usually refer to bodily death (in some situations it does but only if you or someone you know is suffering from a terminal disease for example)
Generally it means the end of a phase in your life and the beginning of another one
it could be either positive or negative, depending on your life situation
if you are in need of some big changes in your lifestyle, this could be a good time for you

It probably means change if most of the ppl here are saying change!
It could also mean a death is coming.... either yours or a loved one.
It might mean that there will be some bad accident.... concerning you or a friend...... don't like that.

It means you should plan a round the world trip, flying all the way, especially on Friday 13th. This will show you're not at all superstitious!
