HALF your Sunday??? Why do the pentecostal fundementalists always have the LONGEST freakin services! Just be a nice moderate Methodist & have one hour church services w/ snacks afterwards- and very little (if ever) mention of Hell. But then again, the Methodists are LOSING members, while the evangelicals are GAINING members so I guess most ppl feel the need to be guilt tripped.

I don't go to church. I don't disbelieve there isn't a God (some kind of lifeforce, energy, judgement) but however it works we get freewill to make our own decisions and live our life as we choose to do so.

However, every decision has ripples of cause and effect and every past action can affect future decisions and more importantly affect social values and influence other people to the extremes of causing death in the name of faith.

What I dislike about church in particular is that it is every Sunday, every week, same time, same things, same repetitive tunes to lull you into trance.

Brainwashing basically, and depending which religion you are part of, will influence you into feeling and thinking different things. We are all born with intuition of what is right or wrong and we can make excuses for that. If you choose to live your life for good or bad it is allowed. People can make that decision. People can give you choices to influence your decisions.

I choose to have my decisions being my own to the best I can in this Sky News influential world. If I am not doing that as a God would will, then I pay for it later. Fear is the main problem - the fear of punishment later.

I have no problems with a community all wanting to worship their God in their own way, but I dislike being told how to do it and other people getting offended if my beliefs are not the same as theirs. Do what you believe and say what you believe, but don't tell people what to believe basically.

I do telesales for a charity.
It amuses me when I ask someone to help sell raffle tickets for our charity and they go, I haven't the time, I do it for the church and promptly hang up on me. If this is the attitude church teaches, along with how to blow people up that don't do your religion, then something is wrong somewhere IMHO.

NO

Let the ones who need some form of self justification for the way they lead their lives waste their time with that.

You go to the pub/bar and have a few hours relaxing with friends

I agree with Tattylashes, sunday is about watching footie/rugby down the pub with your mates!

Come home for tea in time to watch songs of praise then all your guilt will be gone! :-D

You don't have to watch "Heaven on Earth". Just slip over to News 24 or something.
